Inter Miami and Messi have won the Leagues Cup and are in the US Open Cup final. Messi has scored 10 goals and registered three assists for his new club.

The number of games Lionel Messi has played since joining Inter Miami means that he is likely to be rested soon.

In total, Messi has played eight matches in the last 33 days, an average of one match every four days. The World Cup winner has played a total of 684 minutes – 36′ on his debut, 78′ against Atlanta, 90′ in five games and 120′ on Wednesday.

Messi’s immediate impact

Inter Miami and Messi have just lifted the Leagues Cup and are in the US Open Cup final. The former Barcelona captain has scored 10 goals and registered three assists for his new club, immediately becoming the key man for the Florida side.

Martino on Messi

Inter head coach Tata Martino – also from Rosario, Argentina – recently explained that “as long as he [Messi] doesn’t tell me anything, he will remain on the field”, but with so much action coming up it is very likely that he could start an upcoming game on the bench.
